2001 – Full Professor in Polymer Science

1994 - D.Sc. in Polymer Physics, Institute for Chemical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. Thesis: Weak Supercrystallization and Other Fluctuation Effects in Flexible Concentrated Polymer Systems of Complex Architecture.

1979 - Ph.D. in Molecular Physics, Physical-Technical Institute of Low Temperatures of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Kharkov, Ukraine. Thesis: Some Problems in Statistical Theory of Concentrated Polymer Systems. Research adviser: Academician I. M. Lifshitz.

1970 - Passed all nine exams of the theoretical minimum established by Nobel Prize Winner Lev Landau and maintained by his school in the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Moscow, USSR.

1969 - Graduated with honours from Department of Physics, Kharkov State University, Kharkov, Ukraine. Major: theoretical physics. M.Thesis: Some Problems in Statistical Theory of Polymers (Generalization of the Coil-Globule Transition Theory by Lifshitz to Periodic Heteropolymers)

GRANTS and AWARDS

2010 – 2012   Head of the project “Formation and properties of polymer nanostructures in spatially confined systems” supported by a State Contract of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation.

2009 – 2012   Russian Co-Leader of the European Framework Program 7 project “SELFMEM” (Self-Assembled Polymer Membranes). The project united efforts of 12 European universities and industrial firms and has been coordinataed by Prof. Dr. Volker Abetz (Germany).

 

2004 – 2006 Russian Co-Leader of the NWO (Dutch Russian Scientific Cooperation Program) granted project “New computational methods to understand block copolymer ordered phases (nanostructures) with competing length scales” (Call 2003 Computational Sciences and Plasma Physics). Dutch project leader Prof. Dr. G. ten Brinke.
